Lily Gucfa is an architectural designer based in Providence, Rhode Island. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design, with a concentration in Nature–Culture–Sustainability Studies.
Her work is driven by a research-based design approach that explores the relationship between ecology, culture, and the built environment. She is particularly interested in adaptive reuse, material stewardship, and the ways architecture can respond to changing environmental and social conditions. Her academic research examined architectural salvage, repair, and sistering as strategies for extending the life of existing buildings while strengthening connections between people and place.
Lily is especially interested in educational, civic, and community-centered projects that foster learning, play, and social engagement. She believes thoughtful design can empower communities by creating spaces that are resilient, inclusive, and responsive to the people who use them.
